Meagan is an Omaha, NE native. She is a graduate of Millard North High School, University of Kansas, and the University of Nebraska College of Law. When deciding where to practice, there was no place like home.
Prior to entering private practice, Meagan was a prosecutor for Douglas County Child Support Enforcement. It was there that she not only gained invaluable and extensive trial experience, she also saw how wrong things can go in family law cases. Having seen the worst, Meagan is committed to providing the very best representation for her clients.
Meagan co-founded the Nebraska Family Law Organization, an organization focused on increasing students’ interest in family law, as well as connecting established attorneys with law students. The organization has succeeded in bringing mentoring to students and attracting quality young lawyers to the practice of divorce and family law.
Meagan is also an active member of the Nebraska Bar as a member of the House of Delegates, the bar association’s governing body. Her good rapport and positive relationships with other attorneys translates to more settled cases. When lawyers know and trust each other, negotiation is more successful. This is a guiding tenant of Meagan’s practice philosophy.
When not at work Meagan is enjoying time with her husband and daughter, volunteering with her synagogue’s social justice committee, or working on DIY house projects.
I was fortunate enough to have Megan Spomer take my case in the pursuit of the custody of my daughter. I was lost, confused, and didn’t know where to start. I thought all was lost… till I meet with Megan. She picked me up, gave me support, and confidence. Within months I had full custody of my daughter and without Megan it would have never been possible I thank you I praise you Megan Spomer. If your a man who does right by his children Megan is the attorney for you!!!
I would like to take this time to share my personal experience of the passionate, but far most compassion that Meagan Spomer has provided to my life, not only as a professional attorney, but an amazing woman, and mother.
Through a difficult process a divorce can be, as clients we are emotionally dis-regulated, vulnerable, and for me specifically being stressed looking for the right counsel since I had a couple of attorneys already. When I initially met Meagan I appreciated her feedback, and honesty, and felt in my heart it was the person that would represent me, in spite of my feelings at that time. I have personally always appreciated transparency even if it is not what I want to hear, and she fulfilled that expectation 100% and throughout the process of my case. Four words that describe Meagan are: integrity, honesty, compassionate, and passionate with impacting not only individuals, but families. I trusted her through the process, and my outcome was far more than I expected.
Gracias Meagan por el excelente trabajo que hiciste y que haras en las vidas de las familias que serviras en el futuro!
In January 2016 I needed legal help. I’d heard of MCR from an attorney I had back in 2008. He referred me to MCR in January due to being at his maximum capacity with clients.
Starting over with a new attorney and firm was scary. I didn’t know what to expect. I met Mark Bosworth (is now practicing in Iowa) in January. He was an extremely compassionate and empathetic attorney, whom I trusted to talk and share my story with. I never felt alone during my case and he was always able to help me through my struggles. I was a client with Mark for 2 months until I reconciled my relationship in February 2016.
Now, let’s fast forward to August 2016. My relationship fell apart and I needed legal help, again! I called Mark in Iowa because I was comfortable with him and didn’t want to start fresh. Who likes change? Well, Mark was simply unable to help because of the distance now. He wanted me to get in touch with MCR again and referred me to Meagan Spomer. I was already going through so much. I really didn’t want to retell everything to another attorney, again; however, I called and had my first initial meeting on/around August 9th 2016. I told Meagan my situation, and I explained to her what I was going through. Honestly, by the time that 1st meeting was done, I knew that Meagan was going to be an amazing attorney for myself and my case. Meagan has a certain quality that not all attorneys have. She treated my case as if it were hers, and was there for anything I needed. She is the most empathetic attorney I’ve ever known, and has shown so much compassion for what she does. The turning point was August 19th. After that day, I don’t know if I could ever truly pay her back for what she did for me. I no longer felt like Meagan was, just my attorney, but was someone I confided in and honestly, I always felt better after reaching out to her when my situation had gotten the best of me. I was elated on August 29th after Meagan helped me to achieve the first major milestone in my case, and I was able to finally establish goals for my future. My case is still going on and with each new obstacle or bump in the road, Meagan is there. Hopefully, in the upcoming weeks my case will be finalized, but if not, I know that Meagan will help me through any issues I have and will keep providing the best legal advice available. I respect Meagan for her professionalism and her dedication towards my case. Anyone can pay for an attorney, but what you can’t pay for is an amazing attorney who gives their all so their clients don’t have to endure so much during the struggles and challenges that may arise in a case. Thanks Meagan! You’ve been a blessing and I’ll forever be grateful for you. Huge kudos to MCR for providing such wonderful attorneys to clients like myself, when life is too much to handle alone. Your firm really has a gift. Keep it up! I would recommend MCR to anyone. They are steps ahead of other firms.
I used Meagan as my attorney in my child custody case. She responds to emails and phone calls without hesitation. She also knows the law very well and is a great negotiator. I am more than happy with the results of my case. Meagan did an outstanding job for me. I feel very fortunate to have found such an ambitious attorney who knows all facets of child custody law. Meagan is hard working and made me feel comfortable from the beginning. I would recommend her without hesitation.
