Get To Know Alex

Once and Future Advocate

Alex was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and is a self-proclaimed “geek.” Outside of the office, Alex enjoys bar trivia, reading about medieval history, playing tabletop games, and walking the family dogs with her husband and children. While comfortable studying Renaissance philosophy and the Legend of King Arthur, Alex found her calling as an attorney where she could advocate for individuals in issues involving the most important thing – family.

Alex received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2013, completing a multi-disciplinary thesis and additional requirements to graduate as a member of the University Honors Program. While working to complete the undergraduate coursework to obtain three majors and two minors, Alex volunteered as a victim advocate with Voices of Hope and as a workshop presenter for the Alternatives to Violence Program.

Following undergrad, Alex enrolled in Nebraska College Law and concentrated her studies on Family Law and Constitutional Law. During law school, Alex participated in Moot Court and was recognized as an outstanding advocate within the Family Law Practice and Civil Clinical Law Program where she represented low-income individuals in need of counsel while under the supervision of licensed attorneys. Alex obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Nebraska College of Law in 2016.

After law school, Alex served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable William B. Cassell of the Nebraska Supreme Court for two years before going into private practice. Alex focuses her practice on representing clients in domestic relations matters, with an emphasis on high net worth and farm divorces, contested custody matters, and appeals. Alex has tried cases across the state of Nebraska, from Washington County to Scotts Bluff County, and has represented clients in matters requiring complex business and property valuations, application of landlord-tenant law, and child custody expert evaluations. Alex has also represented clients before the Nebraska Court of Appeals in several published cases.

Alex continues to be involved in community outreach and devotes time and resources to several pro bono initiatives, including the Lincoln Tenant Assistance Project, Nebraska Free Legal Answers, and direct placement of reduced fee or pro bono cases through the Volunteer Lawyers Project. Alex has additionally donated her time as a speaker for continuing legal education presentations and as a board member and officer for the Lincoln Bar Association, and was a content contributor to the Nebraska State Bar Association Family Law Practice Manual (2019).
