Grounded in Family
Mariah Shaffer grew up in rural northwest Ohio in Hancock County. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Law and Social Thought and her Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo as a first generation college graduate and attorney.
During law school, Mariah worked with the Lucas County Public Defender’s office, providing criminal defense to low-income individuals in a wide variety of criminal matters at all stages of the proceeding. She was also a member of the Black Law Student Section where she engaged in legal community outreach programs to support minority communities in Lucas County, Ohio.
After law school, Mariah relocated to Omaha, Nebraska and has been in practice ever since. She began her career primarily practicing in estate planning and probate, but has since expanded her practice to include her passion for family law. She also has experience in corporate law, federal litigation, and appellate representation.
Mariah is passionate about advocating for her clients and ensuring that their clients are heard. Mariah understands the emotional challenges her clients face in a divorce or family law proceeding. Mariah values honesty and making sure her clients understand the process. She strives to provide consistency and safety for each individual she represents.
